AC/DC
"High voltage rock and roll — nothing more, nothing less."
THE STORY
AC/DC formed in Sydney, Australia in 1973, founded by brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Their formula was simple: loud guitars, driving rhythms, and lyrics about rock and roll. They never deviated from it, and it made them one of the best-selling bands of all time.
The death of original vocalist Bon Scott in 1980 threatened to end the band. Instead, they hired Brian Johnson and recorded 'Back in Black' — an album dedicated to Scott's memory that became the second best-selling album of all time, with over 50 million copies sold.
Angus Young's schoolboy uniform, his duck-walk across the stage, and his relentless Gibson SG became iconic images of rock. AC/DC's music is deceptively simple — but the groove, the riffs, and the sheer physical impact of their sound is impossible to replicate.
