FLEETWOOD MAC
"Drama, heartbreak, and the greatest album of the 70s."
THE STORY
Fleetwood Mac's story is one of the most dramatic in rock history. Founded in London in 1967 as a blues band, they reinvented themselves completely when Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined in 1975 — transforming into the quintessential California rock band.
Their 1977 album 'Rumours' was recorded while the band's two couples — Buckingham/Nicks and McVie/McVie — were simultaneously breaking up. The tension, heartbreak, and creative energy produced one of the best-selling albums of all time, spending 31 weeks at #1.
Stevie Nicks became one of rock's most iconic figures — her shawls, platform boots, and mystical stage presence made her a symbol of 70s rock femininity. 'The Chain' remains one of the most recognizable opening riffs in rock history.
